How to select a power transformer: Keep in mind the total wattage of the light fixtures (pendants, heads, or functional art lights) you plan to use. A 300 Watt transformer can support up to six 50 Watt fixtures. A surface-mount transformer is mounted into your ceiling junction box. A remote transformer is mounted in another location, such as a closet.
