| The Powell Peralta Jay Smith "Spash" single kick reissue. Painted instead of stained and missing the wheel wells that were on the original, but still a great spoon nose reissue. Relive the days when grind tricks were taken to the top of the pool by the likes of Jay Smith, Alva and Stacy Peralta. An original member of the bones brigade, Smith is know for the earliest and most popular examples of the frontside layback grind - placing the hand on the lip during a frontside grind in order to push the grind further. Jay Smith is known to have thrown the best laybacks of anyone. This deck was the second Powell pro model following the Ray "Bones" Rodriguez model. Up until its time graphics were fairly clean, usually a logo and maybe some text. Other than Dogtown, no one was truly using the skateboard as an artistic statement.
