After the lenses have been corrected by an optometrist - either the wire-framed Rx Lens Insert or the plastic-framed P-2 Rx Lens Carrier snap into either the Profile NVG goggle and/or the ICE eyeshield nosepiece for a low profile - lightweight prescription integration. This allows one low-profile - lightweight prescription integration to work in two products. Deciding between the wire frame and the plastic frame is often a question of personal taste. However - the plastic-framed P-2 Rx Lens Carrier is the only Rx Insert authorized for use in the US ARMY - and accommodates a range of corrections of +/- 4.
