| A carefully crafted espresso blend, specially roasted to create a rich, sweet espresso, latte, or cappuccino. Excellent as a drip coffee too.Tasting NotesCrafted to perform superbly in espresso preparation, our Fair Trade Organic Espresso is also lovely as a brewed cup. We begin with syrupy Indonesian beans, and round out the blend with milk chocolate flavors and velvety texture from select Nicaraguan coffees. The brightness of these American beans helps punctuate the coffee in lattes and cappuccinos. Together, these beans create a perfect balance.Flavor ChartWe originally developed this blend in concert with the chefs of Shelburne Farms, who use Organic Espresso Blend to serve in their dining room as drip, French press and espresso coffees.'When in our tasting room, the highest pleasure is to take some time, some Organic Espresso Blend and some focus and make a few shots for guests, colleagues, and myself. It is almost a meditative experience. People can come into our area, muddled or with a headache, and a well made shot of espresso with our Organic Espresso Blend can launch them into happiness, clarity and feeling strong and confident. It offers a complexity, sweetness, balance and depth in aroma and flavor that is so invigorating, so inspiring, as to make one just plain happy to be alive.'?Don Holly Notes from OriginBased in the Segovia region of northern Nicaragua, PRODECOOP now includes 40 cooperatives and 2,318 families. With revenues from Fair Trade sales, PRODECOOP has purchased a dry mill, and new machinery and equipment, all of which contribute to the cooperative?s quality standards. Fair Trade revenue and funding from various institutions have allowed PRODECOOP to install a quality control center and cupping lab. PRODECOOP has also implemented quality standards for its dry milling process and is currently creating a quality control center to regulate its export production.PRODECOOP received high scores at the 2003 Nicaraguan Cup of Excellence competition, solid proof of the cooperative's attention to quality. |

| A subtle sweetness and sparkle reigns in this mild coffee from the Andes. This exceptional FairTrade coffee was grown with great care and craftsmanship by small-scale farming cooperatives.Because these hardworking farmers receive a far price for their efforts, they are able to takecare of themselves, their families and their land, ensuring high quality coffee far into thefuture. Most of our Fair Trade coffees are fed only by rain, sun and natural compost, unadulterated by chemicals and excessive processing. They are almost always shade-grown toprotect wildlife habitat and preserve the fragile mountainous places where they are born. Whatends up in your cup is simply pure, fresh and fabulous coffee. It's the taste of a better world. |

| Fair Trade Oganic French Roast is dark and complex. Roasted and blended for a bold, but sweet intensity. Tasting NotesDeep, dark and satisfying, our Fair Trade Organic French Roast arrives at its rich taste and complex flavors through the artful blending of multiple roast styles. Its flavors are a reflection of the warm days, cool nights and high elevation along the volcanic shores of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala's most famous ? and arguably its most beautiful ? crater lake.Flavor ChartWe find coffees from the Atitlan region to be naturally sweet and lushly aromatic, and more than able to meet the rigors of this demanding dark-roast blend. Notes from OriginLa Voz Que Clama en el Desierto (The Voice that Cries Out in the Desert) is the name of a Guatemalan coffee cooperative begun in 1977 by the indigenous Tzutuhil men and women of San Juan de La Laguna, near Guatemala's Lake Atitlán.The drop in coffee prices in the late 1990s forced many La Voz families to stop sending their children to school. With the higher incomes that Fair Trade provides, families now maintain well-equipped schools with high academic standards in the communities of San Juan, San Pedro, and Palestina. Three hundred children of La Voz members presently attend school in the area. The cooperative recently presented each of the schools with 150 desks, purchased with Fair Trade revenue from the 2002-2003 harvest.'Every single child of the members of La Voz is in school. Income from Fair Trade has helped send our children all the way through to university and helped them obtain professional positions such as agronomists and doctors. The children come back to work to help their parents in whatever way they can. The best inheritance parents can give their children is education.'?Benjamín Cholotío,La Voz General Manager |

| The cornerstone of our Fair Trade Organic line - FTO House Blend is a satisfying blend of medium and dark roasts. Deep, rich and full-bodied. Certified Organic and Fair Trade. Tasting NotesThis is predominately an American coffee, and perhaps that?s why the flavors come together so harmoniously. It?s like subtle shades of the same palette (or palate, if you choose) with complementary flavor notes that don?t compete for attention. Typical of a breakfast blend it?s a lighter roast; however, it doesn't have alarmingly bright, teeth-tingling acidity.t?s got balance, and warmth, and certainly enough vitality and vibrancy to be a breakfast blend. While we?ve developed this blend to be a favorite first taste of the day, a great many of us enjoy drinking this blend throughout the day.'Yes! power to the people with this beautifully structured and balanced coffee.'? Lindsey BolgerNotes from OriginWe often source coffees for this blend from PRODECOOP. Based in the Segovia region of northern Nicaragua, PRODECOOP now includes 40 cooperatives and 2,318 families. Of all the coffee growing communities that we work with, Nicaragua most prominently depends on strong female leadership. Women in the community often lead all aspects of coffee farming and processing, which we are happy and proud to support.
